Indications
Primary hypercholesterolaemia, mixed dyslipidaemia and familial hypercholesterolaemia, as an adjunct to diet.
Prevention of cardiovascular events in patients at high risk.

Pharmacology
Rosuvastatin is a selective, competitive inhibitor of HMG-CoA reductase. It increases hepatic LDL receptors and reduces VLDL synthesis, lowering LDL cholesterol and triglycerides and raising HDL cholesterol.
Rosuvastatin HMG-CoA রিডাক্টেজ এনজাইমের একটি নির্দিষ্ট ও প্রতিযোগিতামূলক প্রতিরোধক। এটি যকৃতে LDL রিসেপ্টর বাড়ায় ও VLDL তৈরি কমায়; ফলে LDL কোলেস্টেরল ও ট্রাইগ্লিসারাইড কমে এবং HDL কোলেস্টেরল বাড়ে।
Dosage & Administration
Adult: start with 5-10 mg once daily; may be increased after 4 weeks to 20 mg once daily.
40 mg once daily only for severe cases under specialist supervision.
May be taken at any time of day, with or without food.
প্রাপ্তবয়স্ক: শুরুতে 5-10 mg দিনে একবার; ৪ সপ্তাহ পর প্রয়োজনে 20 mg দিনে একবার পর্যন্ত বাড়ানো যায়।
40 mg দিনে একবার কেবল তীব্র ক্ষেত্রে বিশেষজ্ঞের তত্ত্বাবধানে।

Side Effects
Headache, muscle pain, dizziness, constipation, nausea, abdominal pain and weakness. Myopathy, rhabdomyolysis and raised liver enzymes are rare.
মাথাব্যথা, পেশিতে ব্যথা, মাথা ঘোরা, কোষ্ঠকাঠিন্য, বমি বমি ভাব, পেটব্যথা ও দুর্বলতা। মায়োপ্যাথি, র্যাবডোমায়োলাইসিস ও লিভার এনজাইম বৃদ্ধি বিরল।
Precautions & Warnings
Report unexplained muscle pain, tenderness or weakness at once. Use a lower starting dose in patients of Asian origin, the elderly, renal impairment and hypothyroidism. Check liver function before and during treatment.
অকারণ পেশি ব্যথা, স্পর্শকাতরতা বা দুর্বলতা দেখা দিলে অবিলম্বে চিকিৎসককে জানান। এশীয় বংশোদ্ভূত রোগী, বয়স্ক রোগী, কিডনির সমস্যা ও হাইপোথাইরয়েডিজমে কম মাত্রা দিয়ে শুরু করতে হবে। চিকিৎসার আগে ও চলাকালে লিভারের কার্যকারিতা পরীক্ষা করতে হবে।
Contraindications
Active liver disease, severe renal impairment, myopathy, use with ciclosporin, pregnancy, breast-feeding and hypersensitivity to rosuvastatin.
সক্রিয় যকৃতের রোগ, কিডনির তীব্র সমস্যা, মায়োপ্যাথি, ciclosporin-এর সাথে ব্যবহার, গর্ভাবস্থা, স্তন্যদানকাল এবং Rosuvastatin-এর প্রতি অতিসংবেদনশীলতা।
Storage Conditions
Store below 30°C in a cool, dry place, away from light. Keep out of the reach of children.
৩০°সে. তাপমাত্রার নিচে, আলো থেকে দূরে, ঠান্ডা ও শুষ্ক স্থানে রাখুন। শিশুদের নাগালের বাইরে রাখুন।
