Pharmacology
Chlorpheniramine is a potent alkylamine antihistamine that competitively blocks histamine H1 receptors. It crosses into the brain and also has anticholinergic activity, which explains its sedative and drying effects.
Chlorpheniramine একটি শক্তিশালী অ্যালকাইলঅ্যামিন অ্যান্টিহিস্টামিন, যা প্রতিযোগিতামূলকভাবে হিস্টামিন H1 রিসেপ্টর বন্ধ করে। এটি মস্তিষ্কে প্রবেশ করে এবং এর অ্যান্টিকোলিনার্জিক প্রভাবও আছে; এ কারণে ঝিমুনি ও মুখ শুকিয়ে যাওয়া দেখা দেয়।
Dosage & Administration
Adult and child over 12 years: 4 mg every 4-6 hours; maximum 24 mg daily.
Child 6-12 years: 2 mg every 4-6 hours; maximum 12 mg daily.
Child 2-5 years: 1 mg every 4-6 hours; maximum 6 mg daily.
Child 1-2 years: 1 mg twice daily.
প্রাপ্তবয়স্ক ও ১২ বছরের বেশি বয়সী শিশু: 4 mg প্রতি ৪-৬ ঘণ্টা অন্তর; সর্বোচ্চ দৈনিক 24 mg।
শিশু ৬-১২ বছর: 2 mg প্রতি ৪-৬ ঘণ্টা অন্তর; সর্বোচ্চ দৈনিক 12 mg।
শিশু ২-৫ বছর: 1 mg প্রতি ৪-৬ ঘণ্টা অন্তর; সর্বোচ্চ দৈনিক 6 mg।
শিশু ১-২ বছর: 1 mg দিনে দুইবার।
Side Effects
Drowsiness, dizziness, poor concentration, dry mouth, blurred vision, constipation, difficulty passing urine and gastrointestinal upset. Excitation may occur in children.
ঝিমুনি, মাথা ঘোরা, মনোযোগ কমে যাওয়া, মুখ শুকিয়ে যাওয়া, ঝাপসা দৃষ্টি, কোষ্ঠকাঠিন্য, প্রস্রাবে অসুবিধা এবং পরিপাকতন্ত্রের অস্বস্তি। শিশুদের ক্ষেত্রে অস্থিরতা দেখা দিতে পারে।
Precautions & Warnings
Causes drowsiness: do not drive or operate machinery, and avoid alcohol. Use with caution in glaucoma, prostatic enlargement, epilepsy, hepatic impairment, the elderly, pregnancy and breast-feeding.
ঝিমুনি সৃষ্টি করে: গাড়ি চালাবেন না বা যন্ত্রপাতি পরিচালনা করবেন না এবং অ্যালকোহল পরিহার করুন। গ্লুকোমা, প্রোস্টেট বৃদ্ধি, মৃগীরোগ, যকৃতের সমস্যা, বয়স্ক রোগী, গর্ভাবস্থা ও স্তন্যদানকালে সতর্কতা প্রয়োজন।
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity to chlorpheniramine, use of a monoamine oxidase inhibitor within the previous 14 days, and children under 1 year.
Chlorpheniramine-এর প্রতি অতিসংবেদনশীলতা, পূর্ববর্তী ১৪ দিনের মধ্যে মনোঅ্যামিন অক্সিডেজ ইনহিবিটর সেবন এবং ১ বছরের কম বয়সী শিশু।
Storage Conditions
Store below 30°C in a cool, dry place, away from light. Keep out of the reach of children.
